Established in 1967, Khabbaz has been a beloved name among Lebanese children for generations. The brand’s revival introduces a fresh, vibrant identity under the slogan “Just for KDZ,” aiming to reconnect with its young audience while evoking nostalgia among parents and grandparents. This rebranding celebrates the joy, surprise, and love associated with Khabbaz, creating an emotional bridge between past and present.

Visual Identity

The new visual identity for Khabbaz is built around a system of expressive emoticons that evoke joy, surprise, and love — emotions deeply tied to the brand’s legacy. These symbols function as a design language that appeal to kids, and help foster playful interactions. The simplicity and clarity of the icon system make it relatable and extendable across multiple brand applications.

The visual was created by a partnering ad agency to complement the core identity and extend it into campaign materials.

Branded Items and Packaging

Packaging and branded elements were designed to be tactile, interactive, and age-appropriate. Each item (vibrant gift boxes, shopping bags, playful stickers…) uses the emoticon system as a central graphic element.

The branding is purposefully bold and colorful, ensuring shelf impact and emotional engagement while remaining cohesive with the visual system.

Corporate Manual

A comprehensive brand manual was developed to ensure consistency across all touchpoints, providing future-proof guidance for Khabbaz’s evolution.

Retail Experience and Interior Design

The visual identity served as the foundation for the store’s immersive design. Emoticon-shaped signage and stand handles bring the brand to life in three dimensions, while perforated letter walls allow for playful, ever-changing section names.

The entire space—from the entrance to the play corners—was crafted to speak directly to children, making the store feel like a destination, not just a shop.

Advertising Approach

The advertising strategy leans into the emoticon system as a storytelling tool. Campaigns celebrate daily childhood moments—humor, excitement, discovery—by connecting each with a specific emoticon.

Whether in print, digital, or in-store signage, the messaging reinforces Khabbaz as more than a brand: it’s an emotion-driven universe designed “Just for KDZ.”
